So… Now What?!?

On December 21, 2012, the Mayan Calendar marked the end of the first great cycle. (more) Naturally, that meant the end of the world. A movie was made about it, so it had to have been true. 2012

Oddly enough, December 22nd, 2012 was like any other apocalyptic day shopping for last minute Christmas gifts.

In 1992, Harold Camping released a book called, 1994?. (more) It predicted the end of the world would happen, you guessed it, in 1994. That’s a 2 year span of hopefully, good sales profits.

haroldcampingWell, his math was a little off, so he reworked it to be May 21, 2011. On May 22nd, he reworked his math again and deciphered October 21st, 2011 to be the end of it all.

I don’t know if he gave up on October 22, 2011, but he should have.

Neither of these predictions turned out well.

So… Now What?!?

Only one thing makes a prophet a false prophet – and that’s a failed prophecy.

It’s coming out that the acclaimed and “highly reputable”, Nostradamus, the French apothecary

had predicted Trump to be the Presidential winner for 2016. – Cool!

And, Nostradamus predicted 2016 to be the start of World War 3 leading to the end of it all. (source)

Wait… What?

I just have one follow-up question. Actually, two, maybe three.

1) Wasn’t Nostradamus wrong on a couple of other predictions? And 2) The end of it all? World War 3? Nah…

I wonder what the Bible says. That’s a good place to look for answers.

  • Matthew 28:20 – And surely  I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
  • Revelation 1:8 – I am the Alpha and Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

That’s enough for me! I won’t believe “predictions”. I won’t be drawn into hysterical doomsday sayers. I won’t fall into the trick of confusion and end times nonsense.

So… What Now?!?

Whatever happens, whatever tomorrow holds, Christ us with us!
